Present status on technical vocational training in wood processing industries in Japan

-A questionnaire survey to employees in Hida Takayama furniture factories-

The Japanese industries for wood processing are confronting the drastic change of economical and technical situations, and this causes the renewal of the technical vocational training also. A questionnaire survey to employees in Hida Takayama furniture factory have suggested the problems of the present educational systems and the needs of the proper training systems.We found that vocational training before getting job motivates employees, but OJT works mainly on employees' getting new skills.
