Feasibility of Termite Control System Using Physical Barrier

- Effect of the shape and surface of particles on the penetration activity of termites -

When termites penetrated the physical barrier, they took off the small size of particles by their mandible, maxillae, maxillary pale and labial pale, and carried away from the the physical barrier, and they passed through the gaps between large size of particles that were larger than the head of the termite and penetrated the physical barrier. In this study, it was investigated the effects of the shape and surface inequality of the particles on the penetration activity of termites.
