Pattern Recognition of the Grinding Sound of Bandsaw Teeth and its Application to the Automatic Diagnosis of Grinding Conditions

-The Influences of Learning Algorithm on the Recognition Rate-

The technique of pattern recognition was applied to the sound generated in the sharpening process of bandsaw teeth. Four different grinding stages were recognized according to the pattern of grinding sound. The effect of the construction and number of dimensions of the pattern on the feasibility of pattern recognition by network and also the effect of the training method used were discussed.
